Sonoma County Knitting Guild KnitOuts

Knitout 2005 Picture Each year, there crops up in public places around the country, large groups of knitters and crocheters who gather both to enjoy a fall day weilding their needles and hooks, but to break the ice with others who may have wanted to learn how to knit or crochet but were reticent to take the first step, and to provide the inspiration and perhaps a gentle nudge to those who, having long ago stopped knitting or crocheting, have been thinking about starting up again but need some help doing so.

Our 2005 Knitout was at La Plaza Park in Cotati where our presence was made known not just by taking over most of the park with knitters and short classes and exhibits, but by adorning the park's statue, the affectionately remembered accordionist Jim Boggio, with a festive hat and scarf.

To put on a successful Knitout take a lot of volunteers, including a coordinator to pull it all togther. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Board.
